Madame Web Box Office numbers money earnings budget flop bomb

Madame Web Box Office: How Much Did It Make? Did It Flop?

Going through the long Valentine’s and President’s Day weekend, the Madame Web box office numbers are in. But how much has the film made on its opening? Did it bomb? Here’s all you need to know.

How much money did Madame Web make at the box office?

Madame Web opened with $15 million in its first three days but made only $25 million in the six-day long domestic Valentine’s period.

Starting from Valentine’s Day, Dakota Johnson’s latest film reportedly made just $25.8 million in its six-day President’s Day weekend. It is the worst opening weekend for Sony’s Spider-Man-based movies. Furthermore, it is the first Marvel-based film since 2015’s Fantastic Four to open in second place at the box office as the film was behind Bob Marley: One Love.

Fantastic Four had opened with $26.2 million back in August 2015, and Madame Web’s opening was even lower than that. The film added another $25.7 million in international markets to bring its global total to $51 million by February 19. But this opening may not be enough to make it a success.

Did Madame Web bomb at the box office?

Based on the budget, opening, and reception, Madame Web is likely to flop at the box office.

Debuting with a 13% Rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes, Madame Web scored a C+ CinemaScore from viewers, which accompanied its low opening numbers at the box office. The reported production budget of the film stands at $80 million.

Adding in the marketing costs to that and considering that the theater chains also take around a 50% cut from the box office take, Madame Web needs to make between $200-250 million to make its money back.

But after a low opening and an resoundingly negative critical reception, the box office numbers are likely to suffer a huge drop in the coming weekends. It might be tough for the film to reach $100 million globally. So, the film is likely to be a box office dud for Sony.
