Deadpool 3 is confirmed to feature multiple superheroes and unique characters including Dogpool. But who is this ‘not so cuddly’ furball? Here’s all you need to know about Dogpool’s history in the comics and his powers and abilities.
Who is Dogpool in Deadpool 3?
In the comics, Dogpool was once a dog named Wilson from Earth-103173. After being experimented upon, he turned into Dogpool.
Similar to how Spider-Ham is a Spider-Man variant from the multiverse, and an Alligator is a Loki variant, Dogpool is also a variant of Wade Wilson in the comics. He went through a pretty rough origin story. Under the ownership of Mascara X, he was subjected to various experiments that disfigured him.
After he almost died because of that, Mascara X left him behind. But his newly developed abilities allowed him to survive. Later, he became “Deadpool the Daredevil Dog,” performing deadly stunts at a circus until he was recruited for the Deadpool Corps by Earth-616’s Wade Wilson.
It will be interesting to see whether the Deadpool Corps is seen in Deadpool 3. But, it’s possible that Dogpool could have a similar multiversal origin story and belong to a different Earth existing within the MCU’s multiverse. His newly revealed photo with Wade Wilson teases that he and Deadpool are going to be best buds in Deadpool 3.
What are Dogpool’s powers and abilities?
In the comics, Dogpool seemingly has the same powers as Deadpool, being able to regenerate quickly.
Having a disfigured appearance, Dogpool can also heal severed body parts similar to Wade Wilson. Using his canine abilities, we can even expect him to be an expert killing machine when he arrives in Deadpool 3 on July 26, 2024. Whether he will have any other special ability such as teleportation remains to be seen.
