Godzilla x Kong Villain Scar King

Godzilla x Kong: Who is the New Villain Scar King in The New Empire?

The trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire gave fans a good look at its villain, Scar King. But who is this Kong-like big bad? Is he the King of Hollow Earth? Here’s all you need to know about the villain.

Who is the Orangutan villain Scar King in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire?

The Kong-like Orangutan called Scar King is an ancient beast, who seemingly is the King of Hollow Earth and the main villain of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Godzilla x Kong introduces a new villain known as Scar King. After defeating Mechagodzilla in Godzilla vs Kong, coming up with another villain that could take on both Godzilla and Kong is a tall order.

Director Adam Wingard spoke to IGN about the “devilish, Kong-type character,” and revealed how he and the creatives came up with a worthy adversary. He said:

“We wanted to come up with an antagonist that would both be a match for Kong and Godzilla, and that’s really hard to do. There’s a lot more to this character and how he’s a threat, and that’s going to be something that’s going to be fun to kind of dole out.”

While we’re yet to find out more about the gigantic Orangutan, he seems to be the ruler of Hollow Earth, as per the latest teaser. Similar to how Ghidorah turned out to be an ancient arch-nemesis of Godzilla in King of The Monsters, Scar King could prove to be the ancient villain that rivaled Kong’s ancestors from Skull Island. After all, his posters and footage from the trailers have made it seem that Scar King is hundreds of years old.

Godzilla x Kong is setting up his defeat at the hands of Kong so that the latter could finally transition into “King Kong.” But you could find more teases for the mythology involving Scar King and Kong from the following official synopsis of The New Empire:

“This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”
