As of early December 2023, Obliterated hasn’t been renewed for the second season. This is expected as the first season only came out on November 30, and Netflix is likely to wait and assess how the audience responds to it before making any decision. In a November 2023 interview with Inverse, the series creators effectively said that if the response was positive and if there were demands for more, another season could definitely happen.
“If there’s a demand for it, we’re certainly going to be looking for that next party city where our team could get into mischief and have another adventure,” Hurwitz stated.
Schlossberg called Obliterated the “White Lotus of action comedies,” adding, “So we’re looking at Ibiza, Miami, Rio, Cabo. They should be courting us.” The ending of the first season of Obliterated indicates that there is more to come. So, there is a narrative scope for the prospective season 2 as well. Moreover, Hurwitz, Schlossberg, and Heald have likely earned much goodwill at Netflix due to the success of Cobra Kai, which they also co-created, making the second season of Obliterated a real possibility.
