Beyonder: Is He the MCU Secret Wars Villain & a Kang Variant?

With the new Avengers: Secret Wars movie creeping ever closer, fans are wondering if Beyonder will be the main villain of the MCU film. Many of them also want to know if he’ll be a Kang variant. Here are the latest Secret Wars villain updates.

Is Beyonder the MCU Secret Wars villain?

A version of the Beyonder is reported to be the villain of Avengers: Secret Wars in the MCU.

While it seems that the MCU is setting Kang up to be the next big bad, it could also be the Beyonder. As per MyTimeToShineHello, a version of Beyonder will be involved in MCU’s Secret Wars event.

Is Beyonder a Kang variant in the MCU?

A long-running rumor from insider MyTimeToShineHello suggests that MCU’s version of the Beyonder will be a Kang variant.

This hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but MTTSH has had a great track record with her past scoops. Furthermore, it would also make sense for Beyonder to be a Kang variant. After all, he was the main villain in one of Marvel’s two Secret Wars events.

Doctor Doom was the big bad of 2015’s comic book Secret Wars event. However, the first Secret Wars storyline from 1984 featured Beyonder as its antagonist. He was the one who assembled various Marvel heroes and villains on a multiversal planet known as Battleworld.

So, turning Beyonder into a Kang variant would allow Jonathan Majors’ character to continue being the main villain. But at the same time, Marvel would be able to maintain a bit of comic accuracy by using a version of Beyonder in the MCU.

Who is Beyonder and how powerful is he?

Beyonder is an infinite-dimensional entity from beyond the Multiverse who was portrayed to be the most powerful being in Marvel comics.

Created by writer Jim Shooter and artist Mike Zeck, he made his comic book debut in 1984’s Secret Wars #1. He hails from the “Beyond-Realm” outside the multiverse and is said to be even stronger than the Living Tribunal, standing only beneath “One-Above-All” in terms of his raw power.

So with the MCU building up towards Kang being the main antagonist, it could prove to be a great idea to mix him and Beyonder to create the strongest villain for MCU’s multiverse.
