Superman: Legacy: Will Jason Momoa Be Playing Lobo?

The Superman: Legacy reports and rumors are swirling again, with Jason Momoa expected to play Lobo in the upcoming James Gunn movie. Here’s the latest information on these reports and how likely they are of being true.

Is Jason Momoa playing Lobo in Superman: Legacy?

New reports suggest that Jason Momoa will play Lobo in Superman: Legacy.

The report comes from Variety, which builds on a report from 2022 by The Hollywood Reporter suggesting Momoa would be playing Lobo.

With co-CEO of DC Studios Peter Safran stating that Jason Momoa has a place in the DCU “for many years to come,” it’s unsurprising that the actor is expected to appear in the new Superman: Legacy movie or his own standalone movie.

Lobo has been seen in live-action before, with Emmett J. Scanlan playing the character in the SyFy TV series, Krypton. It’s unclear whether the Lobo in Superman: Legacy will be a similar bounty hunter-style antagonist, or if there are other plans for him.

What will happen to Jason Momoa’s Aquaman?

Jason Momoa’s Aquaman is expected to end with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

With DC Studios planning huge changes for the movie universe, the plan seems to involve cutting ties with all previous character and actor combinations. Though this hasn’t yet been officially, explicitly stated, don’t expect to see Jason Momoa as Aquaman anytime soon after the Lost Kingdom.

At the time of writing, it seems very likely that DC Studios is planning something big for Jason Momoa after he has concluded his time as Aquaman. Expect ComingSoon to report on the official reveal, as and when DC Studios chooses to make it public.
