Atomic Blonde 2 Release Date Rumors: When Is It Coming Out?

Ever since Atomic Blonde came out five years ago in 2017, fans have been curious about the Atomic Blonde 2 release date, especially after the film was confirmed to be in development in 2020 by the film’s star Charlize Theron, and director David Leitch.

Here’s all the Atomic Blonde 2 release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.

Is there an Atomic Blonde 2 release date?

At the time of writing, Atomic Blonde 2 does not have a release date. However, the film could come out in 2026.

The reason for the speculated 2026 release date is that the film is currently in its development and scripting stage and is yet to begin filming. Then once development and scripting are completed, the film would need to be greenlit and then put into production and filming, which would likely take place over two years. Thus, this makes the 2026 release date all the more likely. However, there is a chance that the film will not come out until 2027, thanks to the ongoing strikes by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA actors.

This date is an estimation based on the information we have at the time of this writing.

At the time of writing, the cast of Atomic Blonde 2 is currently unknown, aside from the fact that Charlize Theron will reprise her role of Lorraine Broughton, a top-level MI6 agent. The film will also bring back David Leitch as director, while his wife and Theron will serve as the film’s producers.

Where is Atomic Blonde 2 coming out?

Atomic Blonde 2 is anticipated to come out by 2026 or 2027.

At the moment, nothing is known about the plot of Atomic Blonde 2. However, David Leitch, in a 2018 Slashfilm interview, revealed where he would like to take Lorraine Broughton’s story next:

“Oh, I would love to continue Lorraine’s story. If there’s will on all parties…it shall be. I think she’s an incredible character, and it’s a really fun and interesting world, and it’s an interesting take on the spy genre, sort of like revisionist history look that’s centered around a character with an existential crisis, and then we wrap it up with some great trappings of music and hardcore action.”
