The series tells the story of Sheila Rubin. She is a housewife in ’80s San Diego who continuously battles her vicious inner voice and extreme personal demons. But she finds a path of self-betterment and success when she discovers aerobics. In the finale of season 2, we witnessed a volatile yet satisfying encounter between Sheila and Danny. After Greta and Sheila decided to begin a new business, Dannie tried to get a lot more out of his divorce from Sheila. But the latter asked her lover John to team up with her and annihilate her ex.
In season 3, she’ll come across a new adversary named Kelly Kilmartin. The series stars Rose Byrne as Sheila Rubin, Rory Scovel as Sheila’s husband, Danny Rubin, and Paul Sparks as a mall owner, John Breem. Others in the cast include Della Saba as an aerobics instructor and Tyler’s girlfriend, Bunny Kazam, Lou Taylor Pucci as a surfer and Bunny’s boyfriend, Tyler, and Dierdre Friel as Ernie’s wife, Greta Hauser.
The official synopsis of Physical Season 3 reads:
“Sheila finds her status challenged by rising celebrity exercise goddess Kelly Kilmartin, who becomes not only a professional threat, but manages to get in her head. Will Sheila prevail, or will Kelly’s presence in her life undermine the hard-earned healing and stability that Sheila has worked so hard for.”
