The Witcher Season 3 Part 1 Ending Explained

After much anticipation, Geralt of Rivia finally returns with a new set of adventures as The Witcher season 3 part 1 heads to Netflix. If you want to know what happens in the part 1 ending, ComingSoon has you covered. Beware of spoilers if you haven’t watched it yet.

What happened in The Witcher Season 3 Part 1 ending?

The Witcher Season 3 Part 1 ends with a cliffhanger as Dijkstra threatens Geralt of Rivia with a knife to the throat.

When things seemed to have taken a nice turn for Geralt (Henry Cavill), who finally confessed his feelings to Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), the witcher was taken by surprise by master spy and head of Redanian Intelligence Sigismund Dijkstra (Graham McTavish). Knife to the throat of Geralt, Dijkstra told his foe that he should have chosen a side, referring to Geralt’s well-known neutrality. The credits then start rolling, leaving Geralt’s fate upended.

The first part of The Witcher season 3 featured five episodes following Geralt and Yennefer’s attempts to teach Ciri (Freya Allan) how to harness her mighty powers. The evil-intentioned mage Rience (Chris Fulton) keeps a close eye on the fate of the princess of Cintra while The Wild Hunt is always on the watch. To keep Ciri safe, Yennefer and Geralt take the girl to Aretuza, where nothing is what it seems. Geralt and his friends must constantly watch their backs from the likes of Stregobor (Lars Mikkelsen) and Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu).

The upcoming second part of season 3 will likely show how the story will justify the recast of Geralt. Fans already know Cavill will leave the role to Liam Hemsworth, who will portray the white-haired witcher starting season 4. However, nobody knows how Geralt will change his physical appearance in the story. The answers will come on July 27, with the last three episodes of season 3.
