It’s been hinted at and discussed multiple times that the time-traveling franchise would head to a more Nordic setting and now BossLogic’s artwork appears to confirm that the next game will either be set in or focus on the world of Vikings. Previous games have taken players through a diverse range of timelines including The Third Crusade, the American Revolution, the pirate seas of the 18th century Caribbean seas, the Seven Years’ War, Ptolemaic Egypt and most recently the Peloponnesian War.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the eleventh installment in the primary Assassin’s Creed franchise, was released in October 2018 to very positive reviews from critics and fans for its expansive world-building, strong gameplay and intriguing story. The game, set in the years 431-422 BCE, saw players take control of a mercenary who fights for both Sparta and Athens in an attempt to unite their family.
