Deep Silver unveils Saints Row: The Third Remastered!
It’s been five years since we last saw an entry into the hit open-world action franchise and now Deep Silver has unveiled that Saints Row: The Third is coming back with a complete remastered edition set to hit shelves for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 22! The announcement trailer can be viewed in the player below!
The game, which originally hit shelves in November 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, sees the Third Street Saints having evolved in the years since taking over Stilwater from a street gang to household brand name with sneakers, energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobblehead dolls. Despite their celebrity status, the Saints aren’t alone in the world as The Syndicate, a legendary global criminal fraternity, has take aim at the Saints and demands they pay tribute. When the titular gang refuses, players bring the fight to Steelport, a city of sin under Syndicate control that allows fans to take a tank skydiving, call in a satellite-targeted airstrike and more outrageous antics.
The remastered edition has seen every weapon get a remodel, every car redesigned and a large city of the portion being retextured, with over 4,000 assets reworked by Sperasoft, who has transformed environments, character models and visual effects, alongside enhanced graphics and a new lighting engine. The game will also feature three expansion mission packs and over 30 pieces of DLC from the original version that has been remastered.
