Monster Hunter Stories 1 & 2 PS4, Switch, and PC Release Dates Set

After it was announced that the first game would be remastered and rereleased, Capcom has revealed the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC release dates for both Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2.

The first game was revealed to be coming to the PS4, Switch, and PC last month, with it now being known that Monster Hunter Stories will be hitting these consoles on June 14, 2024. Additionally, the sequel — Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin — will release on PS4 on the same day. Worth noting is that Monster Hunter Stories 2 was already available on Switch and PC as of 2021.

The press release notes that preorders for both titles will be available soon and that those who preorder will receive “special bonuses,” including Navirou’s King and Queen outfits in Monster Hunter Stories and Ena’s Kamura Maiden outfit in the sequel.

When were both games originally released?

The first Stories title was originally released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2016 and is a spin-off title in the overarching Monster Hunter series. Instead of playing as a Hunter, however, players take on the role of a Rider, someone who takes monster eggs, hatches them, and takes them into turn-based battles against other monsters.

The sequel was first released for the Nintendo Switch and PC in 2021 and received overall positive reviews. The game once again put players into the role of a Rider who investigates the widespread disappearance of the Rathalos species of monster.
