Disney Illusion Island Free Update Includes Time Trials, Improved Map

A new Disney Illusion Island update is set to release later this month. Developer Dlala Studios has announced a free batch of content for the game.

The Disney Illusion Island update will arrive in the game on December 13, 2024, and will be completely free.

The new “Keeper Up” update will include a new time trial mode for the game, as well as a litany of new quality-of-life updates to the game. These include things like an improved map, new gallery unlocks, new accessibility features, and more.

Race to beat the clock and complete new challenges

“In this fast-paced new experience, players must try and beat the clock and show off their parkour prowess, thanks to a set of new challenges arranged by the ‘Mavens of Monoth,’ a group of ‘old Monoth’ enthusiasts who want to see if anyone knows how to navigate these lands better (and faster) than them,” reads the update’s synopsis. “Upon entering a course, a timer will tick away as players scramble to grab collectibles through remixed areas of the world, making their way to the finish line in the best time possible.”

Disney Illusion Island is a 2D side-scrolling platformer that has Metroidvania-like gameplay. The game follows Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy exploring Monoth Island, and traversing new areas while avoiding enemies.

Disney Illusion Island is available now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, and retails for $39.99.
