Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Launch Detailed Alongside Modern Warfare II’s Season 1

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II just came out, but Activision is still readying up Warzone 2.0‘s launch for November 16 at 10 a.m. PT. The company laid out what will be coming to both games on that date and throughout Season 1, which will spread to both titles.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Launch Detailed

The lengthy post on the game’s website explains what players can expect for the two shooters. The team delved into how players can use their loadouts in Warzone 2.0, the benefits of tracking down A.I. strongholds on the map, how there will be multiple collapsing circles, the ability to interrogate downed foes to reveal enemy locations, underwater combat, proximity chat, its array of new vehicles (that don’t have unlimited fuel), the third-person playlists that will be rotated weekly in the first season, and how the Gulag works this time around, which is a two-on-two match where all four players can get out if they kill the NPC named The Jailer.

DMZ is another Warzone-adjacent mode as it is set in an open world where players have freedom to take on missions while trying to survive against A.I. and other humans. Balancing when to keep going and when to extract will be key to survival.

Activision also discussed the first Warzone, which will be rebranded as Warzone Caldera. Caldera will have cross-platform progression only for the games before Modern Warfare II, meaning there will be a hard line in the sand before and after this year’s mainline Call of Duty. This cutoff is to “simplify the next and newest Warzone to create a seamless player experience moving forward.” COD Points are the only thing that will be transferrable between every game. Caldera will be taken offline on November 16 and go back online on November 28.

Modern Warfare II, on the other hand, is getting a few drops for its inaugural season. The chaotic and ever-popular Shoot House and Shipment maps are returning, with the former launching with the season and the latter coming midway through. Co-op raids are also starting sometime during the season. These three-player missions mix stealth, action, and puzzles, but a more detailed breakdown will come at a later time. Spec Ops, Modern Warfare II‘s more traditional co-op mode, is getting another mission, too. Combat Records and Tier 1 playlists that take away the HUD, add friendly fire, and decrease everyone’s health are also slated to launch with Season 1.

The studio also went over some of the unlocks. Its battle pass is no longer linear and is a multi-sector map that lets players unlock specific items at their own pace. There will also be two new guns in this battle pass as well as two more that will be available through the shop or via challenges. There are six additional operators, which include Gaz from the campaign as well as soccer players Neymar Jr., Paul Pogba, and Leo Messi. The three soccer players will be in the store on November 21, 25, and 29, respectively. And to celebrate, there will be a limited-time CODBall mode, which has yet to be detailed.
