The wait is almost over. Activision and Treyarch have revealed a brand-new trailer for their highly anticipated first-person military shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. More importantly, fans now know when they’ll be able to jump into the next iteration of one of the most popular gaming franchises in the world.
What is the release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be available globally on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Battle.net, Xbox, and Steam on November 14. It will be available day one for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers as well as on Game Pass PC. Fans looking to check it out before its launch are in luck. An open beta for the shooter runs from October 2 to October 8, with those who preorder or subscribe to Game Pass granted access on October 2.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will offer the modes fans have come to expect. The first is a new campaign that can be played solo or in a squad of up to four players. The story will follow the events from the previous game, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and feature pre-existing characters like David Mason and Raul Menendez. It will also introduce new characters, like The Guild CEO Emma Kagan. Players will travel through unexpected locations as the story unfolds.
Additionally, the campaign introduces Endgame, a new replayable experience that unlocks at the end of the story and opens the entire world of Avalon to players, which “breaks the rules of what you thought a Call of Duty Campaign can be.”
The multiplayer suite for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will include sixteen 6v6 maps at launch. Thirteen of these will be brand-new, while three are from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. There will also be two new 20v20 maps. Players will traverse these maps with the overhauled omnimovement system, which now features wall jumps.
Thirty weapons will be available at launch, sixteen of them being new to the franchise. Additionally, all Scorestreaks, Field Upgrades, and Lethal and Tactical Equipment can be upgraded with the new Overclock system, which improves these tools the more the player uses them.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is also getting a new multiplayer mode called Skirmish. This large-scale 20v20 mode gives players objectives and allows them to equip themselves with new abilities like wingsuiting. grappling hooks, and controlling vehicles.
Last but certainly not least, round-based Zombies returns to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and features the mode’s biggest map ever. This version of Zombies, which features new vehicle gameplay, is a continuation of the story from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Zombies story and features alternate versions of the original protagonists Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo, and Dempsey.
