Gotham Knights Batgirl Trailer

Gotham Knights Gets New Concept Art, Tie-In Comic Series

WB Games Montréal had more than a few reveals for Gotham Knights at San Diego Comic-Con. In addition to the Batgirl-centric trailer that debuted early on at the event, the team released new concept art for the upcoming RPG, showcasing the Court of Owls’ lair, as well as where the Bat Family calls home. And in addition to showing off more of the game in various states, the developer also announced that it is getting a prequel comic series.

The new art doesn’t give away much in the way of details for the game, but does continue to set the tone. In the first set of concept art, members of the Court of Owls — a secretive group that will act as the villains in the upcoming game — can be seen in what looks to be some sort of open area of a lair, complete with two large owl statues.

The other artwork depicts various members of the Bat Family, including Tim Drake (Robin), Jason Todd (Red Hood), and even Alfred. In the photos, they can be seen hanging out, sparring, and even looking at what appears to be Talon, a member of the Court of Owls who acts as their muscle.

Alongside the new art, a six-issue comic book prequel series to the game was also recently announced at San Diego Comic-Con. The series, titled Batman: Gotham Knights — Gilded City, will be written by Evan Narcisse with art by ABEL, and will debut on October 25, 2022, the same day the game launches. According to a brief synopsis from the series, the comic will follow “a mysterious virus” that has begun infecting Gotham City, “turning its victims into rabid, yellow-irised maniacs driven to looting, theft, and bursts of anger.” From the sounds of the comic, it seems as though this will take place prior to Batman’s presumed death.
