Marvel’s Avengers Is Celebrating Pride With a Wakanda-Set LGBTQ+ Comic

Marvel’s Avengers is celebrating Pride both inside and outside of the game. Developer Crystal Dynamics announced the title was getting some small themed in-game cosmetics, as well as an upcoming LGBTQ+ comic featuring a Dora Milaje trainee that has a crush on her captain.

This Wakandan story also features Kamala Khan, as shown on the cover. Comic artist Derek Charm, who also did other Pride wallpapers for Marvel’s Contest of Champions game, provided this specific cover. This is just one of the covers, as Crystal Dynamics said there will be cover variants from “legendary Marvel artists.” The team did not give a release date for the short story, but it will be available for free digitally “later this month.”

There will be some in-game items for Avengers players, too. Crystal Dynamics is giving away a pack of identity flag-themed nameplates, but the studio didn’t give any more details.

Crystal Dynamics even went a little further by announcing that it was holding a fundraiser all month for The Trevor Project, a crisis resource for LGBTQ+ youth.
