Bloodborne-Like Action RPG Thymesia Release Date Revealed

Bloodborne-Like Action RPG Thymesia Release Date Revealed

FromSoftware’s style of game has touched many different developers, but a lot of them seem to take exclusively from the two Souls series: Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls. However, OverBorder Studio is borrowing more from the Bloodborne side of things with its game, Thymesia. This promising action title finally got its release date and will be out on August 9, 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The studio announced the date through a trailer on IGN. In it, players can get a taste of the otherworldly environments and its quick and stylish combat that’s reminiscent of FromSoftware’s 2015 hit, but dialed up a few more notches.

Players can get an even greater taste of Thymesia through a demo on Steam. This demo, which is just shy of 6 GB, will be available from May 2 to May 9. It doesn’t have a console demo as of yet, but OverBorder said it will “talk about this at a later date, perhaps.” Steam is currently holding its Festival of Rogue event that is celebrating titles in the roguelite and roguelike genres, so it make sense to prioritize a demo for this occasion. However, the full game will still release on every platform on the same day.

Thymesia made some waves when it was announced in March 2021 because of its faster and unique take on FromSoftware’s formula. This flashy style has led to OverBorder creating many short videos on Twitter of the game in action. It was first set to release on PC in 2021, but was delayed into 2022 and then expanded to come out on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well.
