Elden Ring Gets Live-Action Trailer Starring Ming-Na Wen

Pair of New Elden Ring Trailers Feature Ming-Na Wen & Overly Dramatic Soap Opera

FromSoftware’s latest title, the highly anticipated Elden Ring, is out now, but Bandai Namco also released a new trailer for the title starring legendary actress Ming-Na Wen tasking fans to go and seek the Elden Ring. This more traditional trailer comes alongside a bizarre live-action one that is modeled after a soap opera.

One of these new live-action trailers for the game comes courtesy of Bandai Namco’s Southeast Asia YouTube channel, and sees the actress — perhaps best known for her work in various Disney properties, including starring as Mulan in the animated 1998 film — looking through all of her past accomplishments, before going on a new adventure to seek out the Elden Ring. It contains various footage from the new RPG as Wen herself runs down a vague overview of the player’s journey before pumping them up to seek out the Elden Ring themselves.

This is in stark contrast to the Elden Ring Thailand trailer. This trailer turns the game’s story into a soap opera, substituting the game’s twisted characters for regular people. It contains some gameplay near the end, but mainly just serves as unusual recap of Elden Ring‘s premise and a method of showing even more of the game’s extremely high review scores.
