Square Enix Reveals Artists Featured in Life is Strange: True Colors Soundtrack

Ahead of the game’s launch on September 10, Square Enix has announced the tracklisting for the upcoming Life is Strange: True Colors soundtrack. Featuring music from Phoebe Bridgers, Michael Kiwanuka, Girl in Red, and many other artists.

The soundtrack, which releases on Thursday, September 9, will feature original songs by Angus & Julia Stone, MXMTOON, and Novo Amor, and will also feature various tracks by artists, including:

  • Bonobo
  • Fenne Lily
  • Corre
  • Koda
  • Far Caspian
  • Haux
  • Michael Kiwanuka
  • Ape Dos Mil
  • Dido
  • Metronomy
  • Keaton Henson
  • Mura Masa

“Music has always been a core part of Life is Strange. The emotions and feelings that music can elicit are such an incredible tool in a game that is all about exploring empathy,” said Jon Zimmerman, Narrative Director at Deck Nine Games. “For Life is Strange: True Colors, we wanted players to experience the peaks and valleys of Alex’s journey visually, emotionally, and auditorily. We are delighted to be able to feature such a diverse roster of truly inspiring musical talent.”

Life is Strange: True Colors (pre-order here) is the fifth installment in the series and the third mainline game after Life is Strange 2. Original developers Dontnod Entertainment have moved on to other works, leaving development duties to Deck Nine Games. This studio previously released Life is Strange: Before the Storm back in 2017 before rolling right onto work on this new sequel. The team is also currently working on a Remastered Collection of the other games in the franchise for release alongside True Colors.

Although the game is still formatted as a five-part adventure, True Colors will throw out the episodic format of the previous two mainline Life is Strange titles, releasing as a complete experience on September 10, 2021, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia.
