Microsoft Announces The Outer Worlds 2 at E3 2021

When Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds released in 2019, it received critical acclaim from critics and fans. Now, the developers are ready to return, announcing The Outer Worlds 2 during Microsoft and Bethesda’s E3 2021 showcase.

The game received a brief trailer during the show, which featured an extremely tongue-in-cheek narrator that talked about the behind-the-scenes aspects of making a trailer for a game. Despite the meta trailer, nothing else was really shown for the game, so fans will have to wait for more information on when they can expect more news.

You can check out the trailer for The Outer Worlds 2 below:

The trailer’s caption for the game teased a new solar system, new crew, and more of the same from what fans loved from the original game. However, it’s clear that Obsidian isn’t ready to showcase much else about the game. “New solar system, new crew, same Outer Worlds. The Outer Worlds 2 is coming…and when that day is closer, we will show you more…but until then, enjoy this,” says Microsoft.

When it does launch, though, fans can expect the title to release on Xbox Game Pass, as the original game was included in the subscription service at launch, and it’s likely that Microsoft will follow suit with this highly anticipated sequel.
