Mini-Review:
Warner Brothers continues to offer the Ultimate Editions of the “Harry Potter” films on Blu-ray. This time around we get the fifth and sixth films in the series. What’s nice about these is the fact that you get practically all of the previously released bonus features while also getting a few new ones. (The only one I found missing was “The Hidden Secrets of Harry Potter” which is kind of out of date once the entire series has been completed, so it’s not a big loss.)

The main new bonus feature with “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” is the “Evolution” documentary. It talks about the wide variety of directors on the series, the slight tweaks on Hogwarts’ design, and the re-use of a number of the sets. As an added bonus there’s actually a bit of footage from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” in this documentary. Meanwhile, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” includes the “Magical Effects” documentary. Also thrown in the Blu-ray cases are some collectible cards and a photo book. The cases also have pretty cool lenticular covers where the characters literally pop off the box. And if all that wasn’t incentive enough to buy it, you also get digital copies of the films, too.

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then this is a great addition to your collection. The only reason you might even consider hesitating buying it is because WB might offer a set containing the entire series sometime in the future. But if you can’t wait, then this is a pretty complete package offering everything Potter-related that you could hope for. It’s a good addition to your Blu-ray collection.
