Here is a list of unmissable documentaries on Apple TV+

Beastie Boys Story

Released in 2020, Beastie Boys Story is a live documentary film adapted from Beastie Boys Book. This book is a memoir of the Beastie Boys. Spike Jonze directed it. Furthermore, it was written by Jonze, Michael Diamond, and Adam Horovitz.

According to an Apple TV+ press release, the synopsis of Beastie Boys Story reads,

“Beastie Boys Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz tell you an intimate, personal story of their band and 40 years of friendship in this live documentary experience directed by their longtime friend and collaborator, and their former grandfather, filmmaker Spike Jonze. “Beastie Boys Story” is set to premiere on the heels of the 26th anniversary of the release of Beastie Boys’ No. 1 charting 1994 album, “Ill Communication.” The film reunites Beastie Boys with director Spike Jonze over 25 years after directing the music video for the album’s immortal hit single, “Sabotage.”

Famous figures like Bill Hader, Michael K. Williams, Ben Stiller, David Cross, and Steve Buscemi appear in this project.

Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie

The 2023 documentary film Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie showcases the life of American actor Michael J. Fox. He appeared in popular films like the Back to the Future trilogy, Teen Wolf, The Secret of My Success, etc. However, his career drastically slowed down after his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in 1991.

According to Apple TV+’s official YouTube channel, the synopsis of Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie reads,

“The film, which will incorporate documentary, archival and scripted elements, will recount Fox’s extraordinary story in his own words — the improbable tale of an undersized kid from a Canadian army base who rose to the heights of stardom in 1980s Hollywood. The account of Fox’s public life, full of nostalgic thrills and cinematic gloss, will unspool alongside his never-before-seen private journey, including the years that followed his diagnosis, at 29, with Parkinson’s disease”

Directed by Davis Guggenheim, Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie won the Best Documentary Film from the National Board of Review.
