The ongoing modern C-drama Best Choice Ever released episode 31 on April 23, 2024. It features Xu Kai and Yang Zi in the lead roles. The episode primarily focuses on Liu Wan Yu (He Sai Fei) coming to know that her daughter is dating Zhi Ming (Xu Kai).
Cheng Huan (Yang Zi) catches up with her father. She mentions that she is worried about Zhi Ming as he got into a fierce argument with his father. She mentions that she wants to help him but doesn’t know how. Her father consoles her by saying that she has done what she could do. Cheng Huan mentions that Zhi Ming pretends to be tough to protect himself. But once people get to know him, they can see he is fragile and soft-hearted. Cheng Huan’s father urges her not to interfere as it is Zhi Ming’s decision to forgive his father.
Meanwhile, Zhi Ming’s assistant, He Dong, comes to meet Mr. Yao. He advises her to go back to Switzerland. He Dong also has a slip of the tongue and accidentally reveals that Zhi Ming is dating Cheng Huan. Mr. Zao thinks Cheng Huan is a clever woman who cunningly obtained Xiang’anli and also his son.
On the other hand, Mrs. Liu mentions to her husband that she is suspicious of Mr. Zao moving into Xiang’anli. She suspects that he is there to overthrow Cheng Huan from her position and take over the hotel. She decides to keep an eye on him.

Mr. Yao tries to make connections with the staff members at the hotel. Furthermore, he tries to establish that Cheng Huan won’t be able to take good care of them. But Mrs. Liu catches him in the act, and the two get into an argument. He tries to tell her about his newfound information, but she is not ready to listen to him.
In episode 31 of Best Choice Ever, Cheng Huan’s father invites Zhi Ming to go fishing with him. He asks him if he is dating his daughter. Zhi Ming confesses that they have been dating since Zhi Ming asked her out. Zhi Ming assures him that his feelings for Cheng Huan are sincere. Mr. Mai is happy to hear his words. He recounts his own past experiences and advises Zhi Ming not to let his past define his present.
Meanwhile, Mao’s ex-husband brings a lawyer to threaten her. Thankfully, Mai Cheng Zao is there with her. He takes her side and threatens to take legal action against them.
Further in the episode, Mr. Zao conspires with Pei Sheng. They plan to throw out Cheng Huan and retrieve Xiang’anli. Mr. Zao visits Cheng Huan’s mother and reveals about her daughter’s dating life.
Mrs. Liu visits Zhi Ming. He admits to dating Cheng Huan and assures Mrs. Liu that he intends to marry Cheng Huan. He promises to abide by the rules set by Mrs. Liu. Mrs. Liu, who came in anxious, calms down after hearing his words.
