Best Choice Ever Ep 2 Recap & Spoilers: Which Secret Did Yang Zi Find Out About Her Boyfriend?

The ongoing modern C-drama Best Choice Ever released episode two on April 9, 2024. It features popular actors Xu Kai and Yang Zi in the main roles. The episode primarily focuses on Cheng Huan (Yang Zi) finding out a secret about her boyfriend.

Jia Liang accompanies his father to the hotel where Cheng Huan works to sign a partnership. Cheng Huan is surprised to see her boyfriend there but still maintains her composure and professionalism. Jia Liang’s father senses the tension between them and asks if they know each other.

Jia Liang introduces Cheng Huan to his father. After Mr. Xin takes his leave, Cheng Huan gets angry at Jia Liang. She asks him if he has been lying to her for all these years. Jia Liang pretended to be a Shanghai drifter and a home designer. She confronts him and asks him about his real job. Jia Liang confesses that his father owns a small company.

Cheng Huan recalls how she helped Jia Liang financially and even asked people for help to get interviews. She asks him if he takes her for a fool. She goes to Yao Zhi Ming’s (Xu Kai) chamber and confesses that Mr Xin, the CEO of Deshan Home Furnishing, is her boyfriend’s father. Mr. Xin thinks that Cheng Huan is using this relationship to win his trust.

Zhi Ming asks her not to overthink her love life as it is a personal matter for her. He also assured me that he would consider not firing her.

Meanwhile, Jia Liang’s parents don’t approve of her relationship with a mere secretary. His mother asks him to meet a suitable bride. However, Jia Liang is not ready to accept anyone other than Cheng Huan.

Cheng Huan’s mother had invited Jia Liang over to have a meal together. She gets angry when he does not show up and nags Cheng Huan to break up with him as he has to work overtime to make ends meet. Meanwhile, Jia Liang comes to Cheng Huan’s house and apologizes to her. He reveals his true identity and even starts to list the properties he owns.

Cheng Huan’s mother thinks that he is lying at first, but Cheng Huan reveals everything to them. Her mother has a change of heart about Jia Liang. Cheng Huan finally gives in and agrees to meet Jia Liang. She accepts his apology. Zhi Ming calls her to give her the news that she can come back to work.

In episode two of Best Choice Ever, Cheng Huan’s family is excited to learn about Jia Liang. Her mother brags about her future son-in-law in front of her neighbours. She advises Cheng Huan to stick to him. She worries that Cheng Huan is approaching 30 and Jia Liang might back down from marrying her. Cheng Huan’s father, on the other hand, has a different approach. He advises his daughter to take things slow as it takes a long time to know a person well.

Cheng Huan comes back to work the very next day. The couple meets up after Cheng Huan finishes work. When Cheng Huan’s mother calls her, Jia Liang promises to visit their home the very next day. Cheng Huan’s family starts to make all kinds of arrangements to make him feel welcome.
