Reset is a thriller C-drama that came out in 2022. The drama received praise from viewers and critics because of its unique and intriguing plot. It featured popular actors Bai Jingting and Zhao Jinmai in the main roles. The drama is an adaptation of the novel “Kai Duan” by Qi Dao Jun. Reset has been directed by Sun Mo Long and Liu Hong Yuan, while Lao Suan has helmed it.
The drama follows the story of Li Shiqing (Zhao Jinmai), a college student. Her life turns upside down when a strange phenomenon leaves her stuck in an endless time loop. On the fateful day, Shiqing boards a bus that meets with an accident. The time loop saves her life but drags her into a strange recurring nightmare where she finds herself inside the same bus that is about to explode. In a desperate attempt to get out of the loop, she drags Xiao Heyun (Bai Jingting), a fellow passenger, into the loop with her. Together, they start looking for a way to escape their tragic fate.
On the final episode of Reset, the viewers are taken five years back on May 13. On a bus, a male passenger tries to assault the female passengers sexually. When a fellow passenger notices him trying to touch someone inappropriately, she takes a photo of him. But the perpetrator sees her, and she hurriedly gets off the bus. When she talks to her mother about it, she advises her to keep quiet.

After reaching home, she sees on a forum that the girl has passed away after having an accident. Her name was Wang Mengmeng. The guilt of keeping this whole situation to herself has bothered her for all these years. She finally opens up to Li Shiqing, and they decide to get to the bottom of this.
Xiao Heyun’s health condition worsens with every loop. He has started to develop feelings for Li Shiqing. When Shiqing comes to visit him at the hospital, he makes her promise that she will get out of the loop no matter what, even if it means she has to leave him behind.
Heyun promises her that he will never forget her and asks her to be his girlfriend. Shiqing accepts his proposal, and the duo share some intimate moments together.
The loop occurs again, and they wake up inside the bus. Heyun is seriously sick and is unresponsive when Shiqing calls his name. She is able to identify the woman who has the bomb. She alerts the other passengers about the bomber. With the help of the police and other passengers, she is able to stop the explosion. Shiqing also reveals the truth about Wang Mengmeng’s death.
In the end, the story gets a happy ending. She is able to stop the loop from happening again. All the drivers and passengers are able to go back to their families. Shiqing and Heyun start dating and are a happy couple.
