Jujutsu Kaisen is a part of MAPPA’s “Dark Trio,” alongside Chainsaw Man and Hell’s Paradise. Gege Akutami, the legendary mangaka of the series, has created some of the most memorable characters in anime history. Individually, each has left a lasting impact on the franchise, but when brought together, they create formidable and powerful duos. Here is a list of some of the most iconic duos in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Yuta and Yuji
This iconic duo makes it to the list despite being one of the newer pairs in the series. Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu’s magnificent battle against Sukuna is one of the most stellar fights in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Yuji and Yuta have been praised throughout the series for their unnatural physique. They put their skills to the test as they battled the dreaded King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.
Yuji and Nobara
The relationship between Yuji and Nobara Kugisaki is one of the funniest the series has to offer. Even though Nobara initially didn’t seem to be Itadori’s biggest fan, the dynamic duo bonded after sharing several life-and-death experiences. One of the duo’s most iconic moments is their battle with Eso and Kechizu. Throughout the series, the duo showcases some of the most hilarious scenes in the shows, as they are more alike than they realize. That is one of the reasons why Nobara’s supposed death affected Itadori severely.
Yuta and Rika
This extraordinary pair proved to be a match made in heaven. Yuta’s childhood friend, Rika Orimoto, dies and becomes a vengeful spirit sworn to protect Yuki. The two had a playground wedding when they were kids, promising to be together forever. Even after Orimoto’s spirit passes, she is still his source of strength and symbolizes his unconditional love. Their combination attacks are among the most deadliest in the series, even showcasing their strength against Sukuna. Yuta’s domain expansion, “Authentic Mutual Love,” furthers their unabated partnership.
Yuji and Todo
Yuji and Todo’s friendship has garnered much attention since their debut in season 1. They initially started as enemies belonging to rival schools, but they eventually bonded over the kind of women they liked. They became the iconic “besto friendos” we all know and adore today. Their reunion in the Shibuya arc was one of the only positives in the latter half of season 2. The Yuji-Todo pair has been a part of some of the anime’s best tag team battles.
Gojo and Geto
These are undoubtedly one of the strongest duos, not just in Jujutsu Kaisen but also in the genre of anime. Before Suguru Geto began his crusade for an only-sorcerer world, he and Satoru Gojo were regarded as an unbeatable team of two. The best friends are deemed the most invincible duo in the series for their immense power levels, until Toji Fushiguro changed everything in the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc. Although their relationship had a rather tragic ending, fans will never forget this iconic duo.
