Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc Opens at Number 1, Leaves Gundam Seed Freedom Behind

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba –To the Hashira Training is set to premiere globally. Prior to its grand international release, the anime film’s debut in Japan broke records. As such, the title acquired the top spot in the Japanese box office. As the title soared to the box office summit, it left Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom behind. 

Within three days of its opening, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training arc sold a total of 443,700 tickets. Upon calculation, this makes up for approximately 4.35 million USD. This stellar success marks a great start to the much-anticipated worldwide release and raises anticipation amongst fans waiting to watch the film. 

After the anime film screening’s triumph in Tokyo, the World Tour will take the film to North American theaters on February 23, 2024, through IMAX. 

Though Crunchyroll had previously announced the World Tour screening dates for most regions, Indian fans were left hanging. But, as recently announced by Crunchyroll, the anime film will hit Indian theaters on February 23, 2024.

The eagerly hyped screening will encompass the conclusion of the Swordsmith Village Arc. With this conclusion, fans will be able to get an early glimpse into the debut of the Hashira Training Arc. As such, viewers can follow the events that await the Demon Slayer Corps. 

Other titles that are making noise at the Japanese box office include Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM. The title debuted at number 1 in its opening weekend as well. However, it has now dropped down to number 2 in its second weekend.

Moreover, the live-action film adaptation of Satoru Noda’s Kamuy manga dropped at number 3 on the third weekend, while SPYxFAMILY Code: White remained at number 4 on the seventh weekend of its premiere.
