One Piece Director Joins Dragon Ball Daima Main Staff, Claim Reports

Dragon Ball Daima has been set to be directed by One Piece Series and Episode Director Aya Komaki. She will be joined by Yoshitaka Yashima, who was the animation director of the Dragon Ball Super and Digimon franchises.

The upcoming Dragon Ball series was announced to commemorate the occasion of the manga series’ 40th anniversary. The new story revolves around the adventures of Goku and Supreme Kai. The series is planned to stretch out for 24 episodes and will premiere in Fall 2024.

Dragon Ball Daima has been confirmed to have a release window in the Fall of 2024. Fans are looking forward to new information about the series. The upcoming Dragon Ball series has announced the primary crew members with the release of Shueisha’s V Jump Magazine.

One Piece series and episode director Aya Komaki will be directing the series, hence being posted as the series director for Dragon Ball Daima. Dragon Ball Super and Digimon franchise animation director Yoshitaka Yashima will be joining her for the same role as well.

This is quite an impressive ordeal for Aya Komaki. She has already worked on popular series like Gegege no Kitarō, Marie & Gali, and Ring ni Kakero. With the addition of Dragon Ball Daima, her portfolio will be just fine.

Dragon Ball Daima has revealed about the other staff members as well. This included renowned names like Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru and Yuuko Kakihara. Nakatsuru is known to have worked in Dragon Ball Z and Digimon franchises previously. They’ll be responsible for handling the character designs for animation.

Yuuko Kakihara has previously worked on projects like Digimon Adventure Tri films, 2022 Urusei Yatsura, and Cells at Work! He is supervising and writing the series scripts.

There is great news for the fans as Son Goku will be voiced by Masako Nozawa. Akira Toriyama, the Mangaka of the franchise, has been credited for the plot of the new series and its character designs.
