The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2 Episode 4 Recap

Chiho is visibly worried about the whole situation, but the others know it’s best if she’s not involved. Earlier, Suzuno explained the legend behind the Sephirot tree and Yesod fragments. In a way, Chiho understands why Gabriel wants to take Alas Ramus away. However, Suzuno thinks the world would be alright even if they don’t return Alas Ramus. Emi asks Maou if he’s sure about fighting Gabriel. Maou says he is simply a parent risking his life for his child.

Before going to sleep, Alas Ramus asks Maou to tell her a bedtime story. Maou talks about a traveler who met an angel. It sounds relatively similar to Maou’s background, but he insists it’s a made-up story. Even so, Emi asks what happened to the traveler after he became king. The following day, Emi sees Gabriel upon waking up. Gabriel says he can go home if he can either bring back the Holy Sword or Alas Ramus. He explains there are Yesod fragments within Alas Ramus and Emi’s Holy Sword.

Maou begs Gabriel not to take away Alas Ramus. In exchange, Maou offers Gabriel to bring back his head instead. Gabriel hurts Maou, causing Alas Ramus to interfere and use her powers. Alas Ramus begins fighting Gabriel in the sky, and Emi eventually joins them. Meanwhile, Maou asks Suzuno to send him to the fight. Alas Ramus asks Emi if her feelings for Maou are the same as hers. Emi agrees, and Suzuno sends Maou flying. Maou tackles Gabriel and tells Emi to slash him, but she refuses to do so in front of Alas Ramus. Meanwhile, Gabriel pushes Maou away, and Maou begins falling. Alas Ramus saves him from crashing down the pavement. On the other hand, Emi and Gabriel continue fighting. She manages to cut him, and he decides to leave.

After the battle, Maou is sad since he thought Gabriel took Alas Ramus away. However, it turns out Alas Ramus fused with the Holy Sword. Later, Emi visits the apartment, bringing Alas Ramus along. Maou cries tears of joy. Meanwhile, Emi suddenly remembers Gabriel’s warning to her. In the post-credits scene, Gabriel talks to Sariel about the fusing. Sariel reminds him that Lailah, Emilia’s mother, brought up the Sephirah of Yesod.
