That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2 Part 2 Date & Trailer Reveal

Today, it was announced That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 2 will return on July 6. A new cast member and the new theme song’s artist were also revealed.

During the “Jura Tempest Station: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime‘s All-Female News Announcement Pep Rally Special!”, the return date was announced. A third promo video for the second season has also been released, which you can see below.

It was also revealed Akira Ishida will play the role of Guy Crimson, one of the Primordials. If you’re unfamiliar with Ishida’s work, he has lent his voice to several popular anime series such as Naruto (as Gaara), Neon Genesis Evangelion (as Kaworu Nagisa), and Gintama (as Kotaro Katsura and Sogo Okita).

For the new theme songs, Minda Ryn will be providing the season’s second opening song with her single “Like Flames.” For the ending theme, Takuma Terashima will provide their song “Reincarnate.” They have also contributed two opening theme songs for the first season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

The franchise announced it had also hit a couple of new milestones. The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series reached over 25 million copies in circulation and the official Twitter reached 200,000 followers. To commemorate these milestones, 20 prizes were awarded to those who followed the Twitter account and retweeted a post. Additionally, a free wallpaper that celebrates the occasion is available to download now.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime was originally a light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. Eight Bit’s anime television adaptation of the series premiered in 2018. The first part of the second season made its debut in January 2021 after it was delayed due to the pandemic.
