As A Gay Man

Frank had bought the gang tickets to an upcoming Jimmy Buffet concert. They argued over whether or not Jimmy Buffet was the singer of ‘The Pina Colada Song’; Dennis assured everyone that Buffet did not sing that song. Mac returned from the bathroom and Dee noted that he had been using the woman’s bathroom. Mac stated that as a gay man he felt more comfortable using it rather then the men’s room. Dennis convinced them that they needed to hash out ‘the bathroom problem’ before they went to the concert.

They ordered Chinese take-out and began to discuss the issue. Mac began the discussion by explaining that as a gay man he feels more comfortable around women due to their shared sexual interests. Dee went next, and stated that not all women are sexually interested in men and that because Mac is still a man, the gay point was moot. Mac then stated that he had been using the women’s room for months and noted that Dee wore pink heels which he had recognized sitting next to him for a long time.

Cleanliness

Charlie revealed that he was the person wearing the pink heels. He liked to use the women’s restroom as it was cleaner, quieter and more pleasant then the men’s room. Charlie next admitted that he was a crossdresser, but only when he was using the restroom. Dennis attempted to equate Charlie’s issue with that of being transgender, to which Dee disagreed. The group then noticed that there was a hand-dryer in the women’s room, which the men’s room lacked. They staged a vote and everyone but Dee voted in favor of making each restroom gender neutral.

Mac constructed a sign for the new restrooms, which depicted the genitalia allowed in each restroom. Everyone declined Mac’s sign. Dee eventually solved the problem by hanging a sign stating ‘toilet’ on each door. Frank stated that he was uncomfortable with sharing his restroom with women. They settled on creating a partition that went all the way down to the floor and playing screaming noises in each restroom to offer more privacy to the patrons.

Mac proposed a system that paid reparations to sexual, racial, religious and gender minorities. Dennis, Charlie, and Frank found that idea offensive. Frank finally broke the idea wide open by stating that he, Dennis, and Charlie were in the minority due to the demographics of Philadelphia. The group left for the Buffet concert and put the bathroom issue out of their mind.
