Honeymoon’s Janiak to Remake The Craft

The wave of 90s nostalgia is cresting as Sony announces a remake of The Craft, to be co-written and directed by Honeymoon‘s Leigh Janiak.

THR reports Janiak, who was announced as a strong genre talent with last year’s Rose Leslie-starring newlywed horror, will write the remake with Honeymoon‘s co-scribe Phil Graziadei. The original 1996 favorite, from Bad Dreams‘ Andrew Fleming, followed three bad bitch high school students (led by Fairuza Balk’s Nancy) who delved further into witchcraft with the arrival of a ‘natural witch,’ played by Robin Tunney. They of course experience what you send out comes back 3x.

Original The Craft producer Doug Wick is producing here. No word yet on who will be calling the corners for Janiak.
