The Walking Dead, though a ratings and populist phenomenon, had not managed to wrangle much critical acclaim since its initial knockout episodes. At the premiere of season five however, a cautious enthusiasm spread, with surprise and excitement mounting and indicating that the survival series was finally reaching greatness. Will this continue to be its turnaround?
The second half of Season Five premieres Sunday, February 9th, and AMC has teased such with a stylistic piece; misty, slow motioned and full of battle crying. It’s a nice bit of anticipation, but certainly not as intriguing as Rick’s weirdly big head on the above poster.
