What Was the Logline for the Unauthorized Evil Dead 4?

The film was an unauthorized sequel spearheaded by a Connecticut-based company called Award Pictures which believed it could move in on the Evil Dead rights.  Raimi sued the company and, this week, a judge put a block on the sequel.

If you were at all curious as to what that Evil Dead 4 was going to be about, a logline has been discovered…

Moviehole landed this sales listing:

EVIL DEAD IV: CONSEQUENCES: Horror, 136 mins. Prod co: Award Pictures. Prod/scr: Graham MacCrae, Glenn MacCrae. Budget: $71m. Pre-production. Delivery date: 2004. Ash may need a hand fighting deadites, demons, the FBI and reality TV.

As you can see by the “delivery date,” Award has been trying to do something with this sequel for quite some time.  That’s a helluva running time and production budget (136 minutes and $71 million?! – way to be realistic, fellas).

The whole thing sounds ludicrous and Award probably never stood a chance of getting this movie going.

Oh, and in case you’ve forgotten, Moviehole reminds us that the company tried to sequelize Big Trouble in Little China, too.
