Horror film begins shooting this month
Zachary Quinto has a production outfit called Before The Door Pictures and he’s using that company to co-produce The Banshee Chapter for writer-director Blair Erickson.
Sunchaser Entertainment is also on board; shooting begins in New Mexico this month.
The Banshee Chapter centers on a young, female journalist who follows the mysterious trail of a missing friend who had been experimenting with mind-altering chemicals developed in secret government drug tests. A fast-paced blend of fact and fiction, the film is based on real documents, actual test subject testimony, and uncovered secrets about programs run by the CIA.
“We are excited to branch out in our storytelling,” explains Quinto. “We’ve produced a movie about the financial crash and an innovative, grounded romantic comedy. THE BANSHEE CHAPTER is an opportunity for us to tackle another film with its roots in reality, but through the lens of horror.”
Quinto, of course, is best known for his work on Heroes and as Spock in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek. He has produced a number of short films and the feature Margin Call.
