Greg McLean Status Report

Where’s Rogue and what’s next?

Wolf Creek director Greg McLean hasn’t exactly been lying low since he first carved a niche out of the genre from his place in Australia. Shortly after that film’s U.S. release in the winter of 2005, McLean set about making Rogue, starring Radha Mitchell and Michael Vartan, a giant croc flick that has been swimming in circles at Dimension Films awaiting release.

Fangoria dished some dirt on what’s up with that film along with what McLean has been working on since then. According to the site, Rogue is now poised for an October release – theatrical distribution through Dimension Extreme is contingent on how the film does during its August bow in Australia.

Meanwhile, McLean is taking meetings on his next project. One possibility is the horror/war feature Dark Forces: Battles of WWII from writer Chris Wheeler (In Living Memory). Still, the director says he’s a few months off before making an official announcement.
