Filming has begun on their cinematic bloodbath
Oh, Lordi…they’re doin’ a movie. That mish-mash Finnish rock group known for their GWAR-esque costumes, Alice Cooper-style stage theatrics, not to mention the YouTube fave “Hard Rock Hallelujah” music video, have begun shooting a horror film of their own that they hope to have released by the end of this year.
According to Reuters, they’re eyeing sometime around Christmas to present it to the world. “It will be a full-blooded horror flick, where our characters bluntly butcher people,” Mr. Lordi (aka Tomi Putaansuu) told the news outlet.
The grotesque quintet – who bare their decrepit souls and reinforce their image with songs such as “Would You Love a Monsterman” – has toured all around the world and is about to land on U.S. shores April 20th for a few shows, then its back to the Eurovision Song Contest where they’ll stomp their KISS-inspired boots a year after they took the competition’s 2006 award and skyrocketed to a curious level of cult fame.
