The Walking Dead Attraction Coming to Universal Studios Hollywood This Summer

The Walking Dead attraction coming to Universal Studios Hollywood

For the past four years, The Walking Dead has taken over Universal Studios Hollywood‘s Halloween Horror Nights event as one of their most popular attractions during the season event. Now, Universal Studios Hollywood and AMC have announced that the dead just won’t die and that an all-new, year-round The Walking Dead attraction will open this summer!

Follow in the survivors’ footsteps for a fully immersive journey, using both animatronics and live performers — the next best thing to actually being on The Walking Dead.

The attraction’s landscapes, special effects, props, staging, costumes and makeup were all created in collaboration with the show’s award-winning production team, including executive producer and director Greg Nicotero.

“There are moments from the television show that we’ll get a chance to recreate much more faithfully than we would in a maze,” Nicotero tells USA Today. “You’ll get some great opportunities to see things from Season 1 and some stuff from Seasons 3 and 4. It’s a little bit of a walk down memory lane for us…I love it. I think it says a lot that we’re getting an opportunity to be part of a Walking Dead experience that’s 365 days a year.”
