Watch: ‘The End of the Tour’ Trailer Starring Jason Segel as David Foster Wallace

One of the most talked about performances out of this year’s Sundance Film Festival was Jason Segel‘s as author David Foster Wallace in James Ponsoldt‘s new drama The End of the Tour, which was picked up by A24 and will be hitting theaters on July 31. Today we get the movie’s first trailer.

Co-starring Jesse Eisenberg as “Rolling Stone” reporter David Lipsky, the story is set in 1996, shortly after the publication of Wallace’s groundbreaking novel “Infinite Jest” and follows a five-day interview session between Wallace and Lipsky. The two form a relationship as they bob and weave around each other, revealing as much in what they don’t say as what the say. They share laughs, expose hidden frailties, yet it’s never clear when or to what extent they are being truthful. The interview is never published. Five days of audio tapes are packed away in Lipsky’s closet, and the two men never meet again.

Anna Chlumsky, Joan Cusack, Mamie Gummer and Ron Livingston co-star, check out the trailer below.
