Josh Gad Joins Disney’s Live Action ‘Beauty and the Beast’

After it was announced yesterday that Josh Gad would return to voice the snowman Olaf in Disney’s yet-to-be-dated Frozen 2, the Mouse House and Gad have reached another deal as the Broadway star will join the cast of Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast adaptation as Le Fou, the goofy sidekick to the villainous Gaston, to be played by Luke Evans. If you think about it, the casting makes sense, though The Wrap does caution it’s not yet a done deal.

Along with Evans, Gad would join Emma Watson as the titular beauty and Dan Stevens as the Beast for director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls). Disney has not yet set a release date for the feature, though it is expected to hit theaters in 2016.

Meanwhile, if you’re up for a laugh enjoy Sarah Michelle Gellar as Cinderella and Whitney Avalon as Belle in this rather comical “Cinderella vs. Belle” rap battle.
