ComingSoon.net is at WonderCon!

The 23rd Annual WonderCon is about to kick off in an hour at the Moscone Center in San Francisco and ComingSoon.net’s Edward Douglas has made his way to the city by the bay to report on what’s happening there.

Friday will be fairly quiet when it comes to movie-related panels although Sony Pictures Television and FOX will be debuting the new primetime animated comedy from Mitch Hurwitz, creator of “Arrested Development” at a panel at 1PM, and we’ll be there to check it out and see if he lets anything slip about the reported Universal movie based on his popular and greatly missed show. (Will Arnett, Henry Winkler and Tom Kenny, the voice of “SpongeBob SquarePants,” will be joining Hurwitz on stage.)

We’re not sure if we’ll be able to return in the evening for the premiere of the Wonder Woman animated DVD from Warner Home Video, even though they’re promising a sneak peak at their next animated movie based on DC Comics’ Green Lantern.

Saturday is going to be absolutely nuts when it comes to movie stuff!

Warner Bros. is in San Francisco with Zack Snyder and some of the cast from next week’s Watchmen, as well as bringing McG and some of the cast from the summer’s anticipated Terminator Salvation to WonderCon to give the West Coast a taste for what the East Coast saw at New York Comic-Con a couple of weeks back. The Watchmen panel runs from 11:30 – 12:30 while Terminator Salvation is from 4:30 – 5:30PM, all in the conventions center’s Esplanade.

On Saturday at 1PM, Overture will be premiering footage from their thriller Pandorum from the producers of the “Resident Evil” films–look for our coverage of that on ShockTillYouDrop.com–and Focus Features will be doing a presentation for 9, their next animated fantasy epic after their current breakout hit Coraline. (That’s at 2:45PM.) If you have nothing to do in between, check out the presentation for the sci-fi movie Alien Trespass from “X-Files” director R.W. Goodwin at 1:30PM, as they’ll have a lot of the cast on-hand, including Robert Patrick.

Pixar Animation Studios should be the hometown favorites at WonderCon as they’ll be presenting footage from Disney•Pixar’s summer offering Up, presumably the same stuff we reported on a few weeks back, although we hope to have a chance to talk to the film’s director Pete Docter and producer Jonas Rivera tomorrow. Maybe we can find out if there’s any truth to a rumored sequel that’s been swirling around the last couple of days. (If you’re in the area, make sure you try to get a ticket to see the 45-minute preview of the movie they’ll be showing later tomorrow night.)

We haven’t quite figured out what we’ll be seeing or doing on Sunday, as it’s more TV based panels for NBC’s “Chuck” and Fox’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” but if you’re into either of those shows, you’ll want to make sure to come back to the con on Sunday.

If you happen to be in San Francisco this weekend, you can find out more about WonderCon at the official site. Hope to see you there!
