IESB comes across some of the craziest rumors on the web, but when they turn out true it is hard to call them crazy and while they say this intel is “solid as a rock” I am still taking it with a pinch of salt.
Now, the first part of this story is not really rumor as we all pretty much knew that Shia LaBeouf signed a four picture deal as Paramount hopes to continue the story of Indiana Jones even further with Shia playing Indy’s offspring in Indiana Jones IV and would subsequently carry the torch. A role I am beginning to think he is well suited for.
Now, for the part of this story I am not so sure of. The site is also reporting that Harrison Ford has signed a three picture deal in what they hope means that Ford will end his stint as Indy with a trilogy. Considering it took over four years to get Indiana Jones IV into production that would mean Ford would be well into his 70s by the time his final adventure rolls around? Connery was only 59 when Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade hit theaters and is 76 now and he didn’t make it out of bed to film Indy 4. To think Ford is going to be doing this in his mid-70s is a stretch.
However, this is Hollywood and if they have to prop Ford up with popsicle sticks and he is willing I wouldn’t put it past them to make plenty more Indy adventures.
