One of Netflix‘s most popular rom-com TV shows may conclude its story with a movie instead of another season. The series debuted on the service three years ago as a spin-off of one of Netflix’s most-watched film franchises. All three seasons of the show were produced by Paramount Television Studios for the streaming service.
What Netflix TV show may end up getting a movie conclusion instead of a fourth season?
XO, Kitty, the spin-off of the To All The Boys franchise, might not get a fourth season. However, fans following the show will be relieved to hear that its conclusion may come in an XO, Kitty movie. Deadline has reported that XO, Kitty has not yet been renewed for a fourth season, which is unusual given how quickly it was renewed after previous seasons.
But according to the report, Paramount TV has extended Netflix’s option to renew it for Season 4 or make a movie to wrap up its story. The studio has also extended that offer to the show’s cast, so they can return whenever Netflix finalizes a deal.

As for the reason behind the unusual move, the report suggests that series creator Jenny Han wanted to have a three-season run for the show. Han previously wrote the To All The Boys and The Summer I Turned Pretty book series and created their screen adaptations. Both franchises have followed a three-film and three-season format.
In a similar fashion, a Summer I Turned Pretty movie was recently announced as the series finale. Netflix also recently released Heartstopper Forever, which serves as the conclusion to the three-season show.
XO, Kitty debuted with 12.9 million views, a strong performance by Netflix standards. It remains to be seen whether XO, Kitty returns with a new season or a cinematic finale.
All three seasons of XO, Kitty can be streamed on Netflix.
