Teen Wolf Star Is Kidnapped, Infected and Hunted by Monstars in Hellcoat Trailer

Shudder has released the first trailer for its upcoming horror film Hellcat. Brock Bodell wrote and directed the movie, marking his feature directorial debut.

The film’s official synopsis reads, “Lena wakes in a moving camper trailer with a horrifying wound. She’s warned by the driver that they have one hour to get to a doctor, or she’ll succumb to an unimaginable fate. As the pain sets in and reality begins to fray, who should really be afraid?”

What happens in the Hellcat trailer?

The Hellcat trailer opens with a vehicle towing a camper before cutting to an unseen man tuning into a late-night conspiracy-theory radio show. Then, Lena (Dakota Gorman) wakes up with serious wounds and looks outside the camper. She whispers, “Is somebody there?” before a series of conversations with the unseen man begins. When asked who he is, the man replies, “I am the owner proprietor of this mobile home and truck that’s pulling you down the highway,” over the intercom.

The trailer then shows a montage featuring a man, a baby, and a woman, seemingly depicting moments from Lena’s past. The driver then tells Lena that she has been infected, sending her into a panic. Lena desperately tries to slow the infection, tightening a belt around her arm. The unseen man assures her that he is trying to get her to a doctor because she has only an hour left.

It further shows glimpses of the man wearing a cap and walking around his car. Lena struggles through intense pain. She peers into a room where a mysterious creature appears to be feeding on a body. The trailer ends with a man pointing a gun as Lena lets out a terrified scream.

Alongside Gorman, the cast includes Todd Terry, Liz Atwater, Jordan Mullins, Elise Gilbert, Janey Ivey, and James Austin Johnson, who appears in a voice role. Brock Bodell also produced the film with Andrew Duensing and Nate Eggert.

Hellcat had its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival before being picked up by Shudder. The horror film runs for 95 minutes and begins streaming exclusively on August 14. With plenty of frightening moments, Hellcat looks poised to deliver an intense ride when it begins streaming exclusively on Shudder.
