Ozark star Julia Garner and Mark Foster have reportedly ended their marriage after more than six years together. A source recently confirmed the split to PEOPLE.
Julia Garner and Mark Foster have reportedly separated
PEOPLE confirmed the separation through a source close to the couple. Neither Garner nor Foster has commented on the reports. Their representatives also did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Garner and Foster married in December 2019 in New York.
The pair first met at the Sundance Film Festival. However, their romance began after they reconnected on Instagram. Garner previously said Foster first liked her posts. She followed him back before receiving a direct message.
The couple got engaged during a vacation in Montana in 2019. Garner later recalled the emotional moment to Vogue. “He read me a poem he had written to me,” Garner said. “When he finished, he dropped to a knee.” She added that he then asked her to marry him.
They married in a small New York courthouse ceremony in 2019. Garner said her parents inspired the wedding decision because they had also married there four decades earlier. Foster also planned a special surprise that day by performing an original song during their first dance.
The Ozark star called it the most beautiful gift she had ever received. Foster supported Garner during several major career milestones. Garner thanked Foster after winning her Emmy in 2019 and called him “the love of my life” during her acceptance speech. She also thanked him after winning a Golden Globe in 2023.
Both celebrated their anniversaries with Instagram posts over the years. Foster also shared a wedding photo accompanied by a heartfelt poem. However, those older Instagram posts have since been deleted.
Now, PEOPLE’s source says the couple has separated. Neither Garner nor Foster has addressed the reports publicly. If confirmed, the reported separation would mark the end of their six-year marriage.
