Andrew Garfield‘s war movie The Uprising has unveiled a new poster confirming its trailer release date. The upcoming film is directed by Paul Greengrass, best known for directing several Jason Bourne films.

The trailer for The Uprising will be released on July 16, 2026. The release date was confirmed through the film’s latest promotional poster, which shows Garfield as a rebel in medieval England.
Garfield’s character will play a key role in the story, leading the revolt against King Richard II. The story follows a group of commoners who rise up against royal authority in a fight for survival and equality.
The official synopsis for The Uprising reads, “Andrew Garfield stars as the legendary leader of a ferocious rebellion against the tyranny of King Richard II. As war burns across England, he forms an army of the people to face the King’s might in a fight for justice and survival.”
Besides this war movie, Garfield will soon appear in a fantasy adventure project, The Magic Faraway Tree. Helmed by Ben Gregor, the film will release in the U.S. next month and is based on a classic book series by Enid Blyton. Its cast also includes Claire Foy, Nicola Coughlan, Nonso Anozie, Jessica Gunning, Dustin Demri-Burns, and Mark Heap.
Garfield has another movie lined up for release in 2026, titled Artificial. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, it will feature the acclaimed actor as the co-founder of OpenAI, Sam Altman. Other cast members include Ike Barinholtz, Mark Rylance, Yura Borisov, Monica Barbaro, Billie Lourd, Jason Schwartzman, Cooper Koch, and Cooper Hoffman.
As for The Uprising, its ensemble cast also features Jamie Bell, Stephen Dillane, Tom Hollander, Cosmo Jarvis, and Thomasin McKenzie. Jonny Lee Miller, Woody Norman, and Katherine Waterston will also play crucial roles.
The film is produced by Jason Blum, Paul Greengrass, Gregory Goodman, Joanna Kaye, Joe Neurauter, and Lars Sylvest.
