Spider-Man: Brand New Day Box Office Predictions Are Huge Despite This 1 Obstacle

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is tracking for a massive box office opening despite one inevitable obstacle. The upcoming MCU movie will see Tom Holland reprise his iconic role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

What are the Spider-Man: Brand New Day box office predictions?

According to Deadline, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is projected to earn between $180 million and $190 million during its domestic opening weekend. If those projections hold, it will become 2026’s biggest domestic opener despite not receiving an IMAX release.

Brand New Day will miss out on an IMAX release because Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has already secured the format. The epic has already secured an exclusive four-week IMAX run. As a result, Sony and Marvel will have to rely on other premium formats with larger screens. However, current projections suggest the lack of IMAX screens won’t significantly hurt the film’s box office potential.

If it opens according to the latest prediction, Brand New Day will become the second-biggest domestic opener in Holland’s Spider-Man franchise. The first position is held by 2021’s No Way Home, which collected over $260 million in North America during its opening weekend. It was only behind Avengers: Endgame’s record of $357.1 million.

Brand New Day is also expected to surpass Toy Story 5’s $159.6 million domestic opening weekend. However, it would still trail Deadpool & Wolverine’s $211.4 million opening while finishing close to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Benedict Cumberbatch movie made over $187 million in its first domestic weekend.

Holland’s upcoming web-slinger film is expected to appeal strongly to males under 25. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the MCU movie also features Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Sadie Sink. Other key cast members include Michael Mando, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Marvin ‘Krondon’ Jones III.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31, 2026.
