Oscar Isaac and Mark Wahlberg’s thriller Mojave is set to leave Netflix next month. According to What’s on Netflix, the film will be removed from the streaming platform on August 1, 2026, giving subscribers limited time to watch it before it exits.
Written and directed by William Monahan, Mojave made its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 18, 2015. The thriller centers on a troubled Hollywood director who retreats to the Mojave Desert in an attempt to escape the personal challenges consuming his life. His plans take a dangerous turn after an unexpected encounter with a homicidal drifter, triggering a deadly rivalry that follows him back to Los Angeles.
As the stranger begins targeting those connected to him, the conflict develops into a psychological game of survival. The situation grows even more complicated after the death of an innocent bystander. It leaves both men determined to shift the blame onto the other before their confrontation reaches its final outcome.
The film features Garrett Hedlund as Thomas “Tom,” Oscar Isaac as John “Jack” Jackson, Mark Wahlberg as Norman, Walton Goggins as Jim, Louise Bourgoin as Milly, and Fran Kranz as Bob, among others.
Mojave received a largely negative response following its release. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a 31 percent critics’ score based on 71 reviews. Meanwhile, its audience score stands at 30 percent. Angie Han of Slashfilm reported, “As failures go, Mojave is a pretty interesting one. But it’s a failure nonetheless.”
