James Bond’s Barbara Broccoli Lives in ‘Constant Fear,’ Sells Home Because of Stalker

The James Bond producer’s year-long stalking situation receives a legal update. This came after the victim was forced to sell her house after a break-in incident and threats that lasted for 15 years.

What is the update on the stalker situation regarding James Bond’s Barbara Broccoli?

In 2009, David Wilson began stalking Barbara Broccoli due to an “enduring fixation.” It began when Wilson befriended the producer’s son, who attended the same sixth form college.

He has recently received an indefinite hospital order from the Court based on Judge Christopher Hehir’s ruling, under which he’ll be detained in a secure psychiatric hospital under the UK Mental Health Act. Although psychiatric experts differed in their diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder or bipolar affective disorder, they agreed on the same treatment.

Previously, he admitted to stalking involving serious alarm and also had restraining orders that he breached. In a statement, Broccoli said, “I am in constant fear for my personal safety, always on edge and looking over my shoulder.”

One of the most serious incidents occurred in 2016 when he broke into her London home while she was away and two of her friends were inside. They were forced to hide themselves in a room until the police arrived. She later stated that the ordeal compelled her to sell the house she had lived in for 20 years.

Moreover, Prosecutor Arabella MacDonald stated that he had a “relentless” and “disturbing” campaign after he sent numerous emails, voicemails, texts, and WhatsApp messages to the producer, as per the BBC.

Additionally, the court heard Wilson’s claims stating that the producer owed him money after delivering a bronze bust of her father, Albert “Cubby” Broccoli. He also added that he helped with the screenplay for Skyfall. His video feed was cut off after he interrupted the proceedings by shouting “James Bond cannot be dead,” among other things.

Barbara Broccoli was previously in charge of the James Bond franchise, with her half-brother Michael G. Wilson, before the duo sold it to Amazon. Together, the half-siblings produced nine Bond movies, spanning from 1995 to 2021.
